Book, Books, Books Sometimes Boring But Always Helpful

Title: The Hunger Games

This book made me think about a lot of things. One of main things I thought about was how the society in the book was run. In the book, people lived in small huts, ate whatever they could find and wear clothes made out of old shabby materials and animal skin. (No this is not why it is called the hunger games!) The government in the book is very controlling. They force two teenagers every year into a fight till death game called the hunger games. Each of the 12 brings one girl and one boy into the games. Out of them only one person survives. They have to hunt and find their own food and water. They help bring wealth into the government.

This book challenged me to re-read books. After completing the book, I enjoyed it so much I was really tempted to re-read the book. I chose to do so and understood the book so much better after re-reading it again. I had found many important details to the story plot I had missed the first time round. This has taught me to re-read books.

Dont read this book if you are not prepared to read the other two in the series. Trust me, once you read the first book you will want to read the other two. Also be prepared to become obsessed with the book. For the next few weeks after completing the series, all I could think about was the books.

The Hunger Games is a great book. It covers many genres including sci-fi, fantasy, a bit of violence and romance.

I-Movie Reflection

In humanities class we were told that we had to make an I-Movie on our respected Pharaoh's. My partner Samuel and I chose Pharaoh Tutankhamen. Between us we did quite a good job.

Lets start with the positives and discuss the thing which we did well. Firstly, Samuel and I had never worked together before so it was really nice working with a different person. Before choosing my partner I thought to myself if it would be better to pick my best friend as a partner. I took a minute to think about my decision and it was a good choice to I choose somebody else and getting familiar with a new person's work style.Another positive thing we did was we divided the work equally and got it done in time. That was a good quality we had which drove us to success.

Coming to the negatives, one thing which we struggled with was getting the M.L.A format for our data and pictures. The trouble with uploading the M.L.A format was solved after we asked our teacher to help us with it.

After the help of the teacher we added the M.L.A formats on to our I-Movie and successfully loaded the pictures and the data.

Learning Profiles

I learn best when..... the teacher shows me visuals such as diagrams, pictures, videos. An example of this is when in math if some body tells me to do -12＋5 in my head, then I will take a longer time to find the answer. But if it is written on a piece of paper I will be able to find the answer faster.

I need to ..... read alot more books. One reason why is because reading is important in alot of ways. Reading can improve my writing skills that I lack of. It can also improve my spelling. Another reason why reading is very important is that it can also improve my oral skills in English.

The strategies that would help me in my learning...... is to focus 100% in class and to concentrate when doing my homework. Another strategy is to ask the teacher any questions if I do not understand something this is important because it can help me understand anything I do not know. 

I would like my teachers to know this about me.....is that I am focused in class but I can get easily distracted by a friend. moving me to sit away from my friend can help me learn better sometimes. So if you feel like I am not concentrating in class, I wouldn't mind if you moved my seat. 

New Year's Blogpost

     Setting New Year resolutions can help make this year 2011 be the best and most unique year for me. Lets start of with my first New Year's resolution. What I aim for is to give my 100% in every thing I do. From studies to sports but for now I have to focus on my studies more. I hope to get the year started with good spirit and good grades.

      Now for the second New Year's resolution. For this year my goal is to improve my writing skills as they are very weak right now. How I can accomplish that gaol is by reading alot of books of all kinds. That is what I lack to do. I can accomplish this goal by following the first goal. Hopefully I can complete my mission and make this year the best.

Over my Christmas break I went back home to New Delhi. I was very excited  because on the weather forecast it showed that the weather was about 7 degrees min. I was sad for my sister because she had to get a knee surgery. In Delhi I visited all my cousins every evening we went out to play in the breeze to feel the chilly wind and have fun with freinds I had alot of fun during this trip and can't wait to go back for another visit.

One talent that I posses is basketball. Basketball is my favourite sport and everyday I dream about playing in the NBA with Yao Ming and Kobe Bryant. Basketball is a very fun game and I like it because you have to work as a team and communicate effectively. I only started playing this game in 5th grade  and I was just good at it.
